Repair Services
Introduction to Repair Services
At MCA, we prioritize the success of your DIY projects. However, if your kit is still not functioning after troubleshooting, we offer a specialized Repair Service to help get it back in working order. This service is available for customers who have already assembled their kits and need assistance after all troubleshooting attempts have been exhausted.
Please note that MCA kits are sold without direct support. Common issues typically involve misplaced components, damaged pads/tracks, or faulty solder joints. To troubleshoot, we recommend isolating the problem by checking each component, solder joint, and trace continuity within specific circuit blocks. This is the approach we rely on when repairing units.
While we are committed to assisting you as much as possible, we acknowledge that some building issues can be complex, even for experienced technicians. We kindly ask that you understand we cannot offer basic electronics guidance or troubleshoot your unit via email. Such back-and-forth correspondence often does not lead to a resolution, especially if the problem is a missed joint or misplaced part that is not immediately obvious. If you lack foundational electronics troubleshooting skills, sending the unit to us for repair is the best option.
If you need clarification or have questions, feel free to reach out, and we will respond as soon as possible. We are happy to provide input on specific troubleshooting results. Unfortunately, we cannot offer additional troubleshooting advice. However, you can find helpful solutions to common problems online, as many video tutorials provide detailed explanations.
Repair Request Process
To begin the repair process, please contact us with a clear description of the issue you’re experiencing with your kit. Include your personal details, the kit’s serial number, and an outline of the problems. Once we receive your inquiry, we will provide you with instructions on how to return the defective unit. Please note that you will be responsible for shipping costs when sending the kit back to us for repair.
Repair Fees and Costs
The repair service is charged at an hourly rate of €35.00 (+ VAT, if applicable). Shipping costs will be calculated based on the total weight of the items being repaired. Additional charges may apply for any necessary component replacements. Before starting any repairs, we will notify you of the estimated cost. Our goal is to complete the repair within three weeks of receiving your kit.
Eligibility for Repair Services
Please note that this service is only available for kits designed and supported by MCA. It does not cover kits assembled by third parties, including those purchased from retailers or platforms like eBay or Reverb, or second-hand kits that have already been assembled. This repair service is not intended for kits that need to be assembled from scratch. If you are returning multiple kits for repair, you will be charged for each one separately.
Customer Commitment and Satisfaction
MCA offers this repair service as a zero-profit initiative because we want you to have a positive experience with your DIY kit. Our goal is to help you fix your kit and ensure it operates as intended. However, we encourage customers to attempt troubleshooting before opting for this service, as it may be the best option only after all other possibilities have been explored.
